PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

English playwright Joe Orton's (Entertaining Mr. Sloan, Loot) final play, What the Butler Saw is often considered his most perfect farce--a celebration of the neurotic patterns brilliantly illuminated by Orton on stage and a satiric and hilarious examination of sexual and psychological exploration. At the time of the releasing of this play, Orton was considered Englandís most controversial playwright, and had been banned from the majority of theatres.

"After doing comedy for so many years, itís nice to go back to itís roots: farce, and nobody does farce better than Orton" says Artistic Director Sean Daniels. "Mistaken identities, people running into doors, and losing their clothes, this is what good theatre and great comedy is all about. All theatre could probably use naked people running through scenes every now and then. It keeps you awake."

Please note: This show contains nudity, sexual situations, adult language and British accents.
