PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

O'Casey's classic comedy is set in the Dublin tenements during the Irish Civil War. Acclaimed for its unforgettable characters, JUNO is that perfect balance of laughter and tears that flourishes at the heart of Irish storytelling.

The Experts Say...

Atlanta Journal Constitution
by Kathy Janich
November 10, 2000
Kathy sez "Juno" "fills the terrain with laughter and tears." She says the cast "seems to savor the taste and feel of O'Casey's language." Director David Crowe, Lily Yancey and Nevin Miller are given specific compliments, while she calls Beth Dalton "funny enough" but too loud, as was the soundscape.

Creative Loafing
by Curt Holman
November 09, 2000
Curt sez that Theatre Gael "has more luck with the tragic than the comic" parts of this piece. He calls Thomas "amusingly self-important", Daniels convincing, and Ruyle "droll but dramatically slight."

5.0
Presented with humor and poignancy, this is a play not to be missed. Joanna Daniel is a perfect Juno, the part of Joxer was written with John Stephens in mind--he is terrific, Gene Ruyle is a very believable Captain Boyle, and matter of fact the entire cast of some 12 actors are excellent. This is Theatre Gael at its best! [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
