Dedalus' reviews of plays that I have seen at a range of professional theaters are consistently fair, shading slightly to generous. Again, it's unlikely that he's close friends with the very different professionals at The Shakespeare Tavern, Actors Express, Theatrical Outfit and Horizon. His reviews of their shows are objective. I can't comment on his community theater reviews: the material they present is not my cuppa tea and I don't drink it. Not that a good writer like Brad needs defending, but his reviewing provides a public benefit for free. It would be churlish in me not to express appreciation.
And it is self-evident that the eight Mah Jong 'reviews' - all 5.0s by new reviewers - were not in the spirit of this website. |
