Three Days of Rain By Sally_Otterman
I have to say I saw this play on Broadway a few years ago with Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd. Though the cast was competent and exhibited great "star power," the play itself was awful. Awful in the fact that nothing really happens of any major importance and I wonder what these A list actors were thinking when they initially read it and then subsequently decided to sign on. Maybe they wanted to do a stint on Broadway, maybe they were just tired of making movies at the time, but the play itself certainly doesn't rivet anyone, anywhere. I see that the play was even a Pulitzer Prize finalist?? Maybe there wasn't enough stiff competition that year and I'm not bashing the playwright as he has won many awards and won the Tony in 2003 for his play "Take Me Out." But, I just don't get "Three Days of Rain." If someone can explain to me the point of it, I would love to hear from them. Even Mr. Greenberg himself. Or, Onstage Atlanta, Inc. as they have decided to produce the play. Maybe they can enlighten me.
